National Initiative for Afrin begins vigil in Berlin

The systematic ethnical, cultural and economical genocide against civilians in Afrin is going on daily without any legal deterrent from any international forces, despite the reports issued by the independent international investigation committees of the United Nations, which confirmed that the violations against the native people of the region are comparable to war crimes against humanity.

The National Initiative for Afrin has launched a vigil on Sunday in Berlin to demand the trial in an international court of those carrying out crimes against humanity in Afrin.

The organisers of the action wrote: “The killings, rape, kidnappings, forced disappearances, the seizure of property, land, building and settlements, imposing royalties on farmers, harvest and trees, and imposing a ban on the cultural life of the Kurdish people of the region are all crimes carried out with the support of the Turkish occupation and other mercenaries of the Syrian opposition, affiliated and funded by countries and regimes trying to exterminate Kurds.”

The National Initiative for Afrin has decided to “start this vigil in order to bring the voice of Afrin victims on the international arena and expose the crimes of Turkey and its mercenaries. We call on the international community to put pressure on Turkey to end these crimes.”
