HPG: Turkish state murdering the Kurdish people will be held accountable

The HPG (People’s Defense Forces) Press Center issued a statement in memory of Ibrahim Hesen, who was killed during a Turkish army strike in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq). The statement published on Saturday includes the following:

“On 13 June, our citizen named Ibrahim Hesen, 50 years old and father of six children, who was working in his own garden in the hamlet of Deşîşê in the Kanî Masî sub-district of Amadiya district, was killed in an attack carried out by the invading Turkish army. First and foremost, we would like to convey our condolences to the people of Deşîşê, who demonstrated patriotism by refusing to leave their homeland, as well as to the family of Ibrahim Hesen, who was mercilessly murdered.

The Turkish army, which has been unable to overcome the resistance of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, to go ahead despite mobilizing all of its resources, and to avoid sustaining heavy blows every day, is recklessly targeting innocent Kurds. The murderous Turkish regime, which has made it a practice to murder civilians and innocent Kurds and strives to normalize it by making it plain, is purposefully bombing residential areas and slaughtering our people, particularly in places where guerrilla resistance is still active. It intends to further the invasion plans by sending Kurdish people away from these areas. However, our patriots from Southern Kurdistan refuse to succumb to all of the enemy’s policies, refusing to leave their homeland and rendering the genocidal Turkish state’s killings null and worthless.

We declare firmly that the invading Turkish state will be held accountable for these killings,” he said.
