SDF spokesperson: We will defend our people in Til Temir

The invading Turkish state and its mercenaries have been attacking villages in the Til Temir district of Hesekê Canton with artillery since Friday morning. As a result of the attack, some villagers left their lands, while Russia, supposed to be the guarantor, remains silent.

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) spokesperson, Aram Hena, said in a statement on his social media account: “The invading forces have been attacking the villages of Derdar, Micibra Şêx Eli with artillery and howitzers since Friday morning. Our civilian population suffers as a result of the attacks. On the basis of legitimate defense and within the framework of the rights granted by international law, the Til Temir Military Council and the Syriac Military Council took the necessary measures to protect the civilians. We responded quickly to the attacks. The mercenaries were hit. We would like to repeat that we will not leave the attacks on our people, our villages and our treasured places unanswered.

As we mentioned in our last annual meeting, Russia should take responsibility for controlling the war zones, maintaining the ceasefire and stopping the attacks on our people.”
