German SPD politician pays solidarity visit to HDP in Izmir

Nils Schmid, member of the German Parliament, paid a solidarity visit to the HDP in Izmir. The foreign policy spokesman of the SPD parliamentary group was received by HDP deputy Serpil Kemalbay and the co-chairs of the provincial association, Besriye Tekgür and Kadri Baydur. Tekgür and Baydur told of the attacks on the HPD and said that expressions of solidarity are important. Serpil Kemalbay described the murder of HDP member Deniz Poyraz as a state-sponsored, planned and programmed crime. “This massacre was a message directed not only at the HDP, but at the peoples of Turkey,” she said.

Deniz Poyraz was murdered by a Turkish fascist in mid-June in an attack on the HDP headquarters in Izmir, which was under round-the-clock police surveillance.
