Freedom for Öcalan Vigil in Strasbourg enters its 10th year

A rally was held to celebrate the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil in the city of Strasbourg. The rally was promoted by the KCDK-E to celebrate the beginning of the 10th year of the action. Speakers at the rally said that the isolation imposed on Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan is actually applied to the Kurdish people, and emphasized that isolation aimed at silencing the will of the Kurdish people.

Activists underlined that the Kurdish people will continue to fight until the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan is achieved and added that it is of historical importance to ensure unity among Kurds against the occupation and genocide.

 

Initiated by KCDK-E in September 2020, the “End isolation, fascism and occupation; Time for freedom” campaign continues. Within the scope of the campaign, a mass rally was held on the to celebrate the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil which began on 25 June 2012 and entered its 10th year.

Speakers at the rally also said that the key to the solution of the Kurdish question is to be found in Imrali.

After the speeches, the representatives of the institutions took over the Vigil from the Oldenburg on its 470th week.
