Internationalist rally against Öcalan’s isolation in Berlin

Under the slogan “The time for the freedom of Rêber Apo has come”, internationalist youth activists organized a rally and collected signatures for the release of Abdullah Öcalan, who has been isolated on the prison island of Imrali for 22 years. The signatures will be sent to the UN with a demand for a decisive effort to lift Öcalan’s isolation and guarantee his freedom.

In speeches and at a book table, passers-by were informed about the prison situation on Imrali, the isolation in violation of human rights, but also the emancipatory character of Öcalan’s radical democratic and women’s liberating ideology.

The pictures of the fallen revolutionaries Mazlum Doğan, Sakine Cansız (Sara), Fidan Doğan (Rojbîn), Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahî), Michael Panser (Bager Nujiyan) and Sarah Handelman (Sara Dorşin) were shown at the rally and their biographies were presented.
