Kobanê University has launched a new educational program specifically for students who could not complete their studies due to war, instability, and conditions in the region. With this initiative, the institution aims to fill a gap created by years of conflict.
According to the university administration, the new model introduces a so-called open study system. After enrollment, students can largely prepare their coursework independently, make use of digital learning resources, and only need to attend in person for examinations. This approach is intended to facilitate access to higher education, especially for those who had to interrupt their studies.
Şervan Muslim, Co-Chair of the university, stated that the goal is to provide all affected individuals with a new perspective. Many people, he noted, did not abandon their studies by choice but were forced to do so due to the situation in the region. The university had previously introduced programs for employees of the autonomous administration who were unable to complete their education, and these programs are continuing.

Since its establishment in 2017, Kobanê University has taken on the role of addressing educational gaps in the region and building academic structures. The new program is part of this strategy and is also aimed at the large number of students whose education has remained unfinished.
The program covers multiple faculties and departments, including language and literature, law, education, and various specialized institutes. Enrollment has been open since April 6 and will continue until April 15 at the new campus of Kobanê University.
