400 prisoners to be released today

Mahmoud Khalil Ali, Deputy General Commander of the Hasakah Internal Security Forces, announced that 400 prisoners currently held by the Syrian interim government will be released today, Saturday.

In a statement on the X platform, Ali said that a mutual prisoner exchange will take place as part of the implementation of the January 29 Agreement.

According to the statement, within the framework of the exchange scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, 400 prisoners will be released, and some detainees held by the Hasakah Internal Security Forces will also be freed.

It was stated that the exchange will take place today at the Sebax Junction at 14:00.

Ali emphasized that this step aims both to strengthen social security and to demonstrate determination to implement the January 29 Agreement on the ground.
