According to sources from the Afrin (Efrîn)–Shahba Refugees Council based in Qamishlo, preparations are ongoing for the return of the third group of migrants from Afrin.
The sources stated that the third group consists of approximately 200 families and will set out for Afrin on Wednesday (8 April 2026).
They added that the second group of migrants, also consisting of 200 families, departed yesterday morning from the Jazira region and reached Afrin in the evening hours. The first group, made up of 400 families, had returned to Afrin earlier this year on 9 March.
