Kurds are celebrating Abdullah Öcalan’s birthday on April 4 all around Kurdistan and beyond.
In the free mountains of Kurdistan, PJAK guerrillas celebrated the birthday of the Kurdish leader who has turned 77 today.
Speaking to RojNews, a guerrilla fighter named Helgurt Rojhilat congratulated all Kurdish people on Öcalan’s birthday and the founding anniversary of the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK).
Helgurt Rojhilat stated that they are closest to freedom in the current period. Noting that April 4 is also the founding anniversary of PJAK, Helgurt Rojhilat said, “Today there are major visible changes. Now it is seen clearly that PJAK has established the political balance in Iran and Rojhilatê (Eastern) Kurdistan. This gives us a sense of victory. In this sensitive period, young people must act with a sense of duty and responsibility and struggle more for their mission. The only way for youth to fulfill their duties and roles is through PJAK’s ideas and philosophy.”
Bîşeng Jiyan, a member of the Rojhilatê Kurdistan Youth Community (Komelaya Ciwan), also celebrated Öcalan’s birthday and PJAK’s founding anniversary, stating, “We will secure the physical freedom of Leader Öcalan. Youth must be committed to the Iranian revolution. They must get organized and build democratic unity among themselves. The physical freedom of Leader Öcalan means the victory of the revolution in Rojhilatê Kurdistan.”
