PJAK: We are one step closer to freedom

The Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) published a written statement on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of its founding and the 77th birthday of Abdullah Öcalan.

The statement noted that the 22 years since PJAK’s founding have been filled with struggle and congratulated the Kurdish people, the families of martyrs, supporters of freedom, and democrats on the anniversary.

PJAK stated that it will continue its struggle, based on commitment to the Kurdish people, the Kurdistan freedom movement, and oppressed peoples, with the goal of “a free life that will end in victory.”

The statement emphasized that PJAK was founded on 4 April 2004, with the aim of establishing a free life for the Kurdish people and defending the rights of oppressed peoples.

While describing its founding as a “rebirth of the people,” the party said that the Kurdish freedom movement has achieved significant gains thanks to its struggle.

PJAK also noted that the Kurdish people have made important progress over the past year thanks especially to the sacrifice and dedication of its cadres and guerrilla forces.

The statement said: “Another year has passed, and the Kurdish people, under the shadow of the struggles of the liberation movement, especially thanks to the sacrifice and dedication of its cadres and guerrilla forces, have achieved tremendous gains and moved one step closer to freedom.”
