Kindergarten project in Maxmur Camp completed

The Italy branch of the Kurdish Red Crescent (Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê) has completed its kindergarten (Children’s Garden – Baxçê zarokan) project in Maxmur Camp in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq). The school, constructed as part of a project launched in 2024, has been opened for use by children.

According to a statement by the Kurdish Red Crescent administration, a total of 120,000 euros was spent on the construction of the kindergarten. In the new educational facility, five specialist teachers, one psychologist/pedagogue, and two administrative staff will work on a permanent basis.

The statement noted that the kindergarten aims to provide a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment for children. The school also includes a garden and a playground area. These areas will contribute both to the children’s educational process and their social development.

The Kurdish Red Crescent administration thanked the people of Italy and all individuals and institutions that showed solidarity and provided financial support for the realization of the project.
