22 political prisoners in Iran face risk of execution

The website Voice of Kurdish and Iranian Prisoners reported that political prisoners held in Ghezel Hesar Prison in the city of Karaj were subjected to torture, removed from the prison, and taken to an unknown location.

It was reported that authorities carried out a raid on Ward 4 of the prison without any prior notice, torturing the 22 political prisoners in it and removing them from the facility.

The report said that the transfer of political prisoners to solitary confinement cells or to an unknown location has increased concerns that their death sentences may be carried out soon.

Many political prisoners sentenced to death are being held in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, according to the report.
