Haji Omeran border crossing reopens

The international Haji Omeran border crossing, located between the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan) in Iran, reopened today after being closed for 15 days.

All the staff and officials employed at the border crossing returned to their duties today.

The Haji Omeran border crossing is located in the Choman district of Hewlêr (Erbil) province. Around six billion dollars in trade is conducted annually through this crossing between Southern Kurdistan and Eastern Kurdistan.

Due to the war between Iran and Israel–the United States, the crossing had been closed to commercial and tourist travel for the past 15 days.
