The website Voice of Kurdish and Iranian Prisoners shared information about the situation of detainees in Qarchak Prison.
Accordingly, more than 80 women arrested during the recent protests in Iran and Rojhilat (East Kurdistan) are being held in Qarchak Prison.
The prisoners are reportedly kept in a five-room ward, deprived of basic services, and their living conditions have been deliberately worsened.
According to the report, the prisoners are forced to sleep on the floor because they cannot find beds, putting their health at risk.
The women prisoners have reportedly been unable to meet with their families for a long time, and the cancellation of family visits has caused new concerns. The detainees have been informed that their trials will be postponed until May.
On 28 December 2025, mass protests were held across Iran and Rojhilat (East Kurdistan) against political, economic and social crises. As Iranian security forces attempted to violently suppress the protests, thousands of people were killed by Iranian security forces.
