Border crossings between the Kurdistan Region and Iran to reopen soon

The Kurdistan Region Exporters and Importers Union issued a statement regarding the reopening of the border crossings between the Kurdistan Region and Iran.

The statement said that commercial activities between Iran and the Kurdistan Region, which had been suspended for some time due to conflict and war, will resume in the coming days. It noted that the situation at the border crossings is gradually returning to normal.

According to the decision taken, the Shushme Border Crossing in Tewêle was reopened on March 8, while the Seyranben Border Crossing reopened last night (March 9).

The union stated that at Bashmakh, the only border crossing that has remained open, 500 cargo trucks per day are passing from Iran into the Kurdistan Region.

According to the statement, the Haji Omeran and Parwezkhan international border crossings are also expected to reopen for trade in the coming days.

Following the attacks by Israel and the United States against Iran, Iran closed all border crossings with the Kurdistan Region and banned the export of Iranian goods.
