Armed groups linked to the Syrian Interim Government looted 74 villages in the Kobanê countryside after pulling back from the area. However, 10 villages remain under the control of these groups. Their continued presence in the region is preventing villagers from returning to their homes and is also delaying the implementation of the 29 January agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Interim Government.
