Öcalan’s book on the Middle East translated into Spanish and English

The fourth volume of the ‘Manifesto of the Democratic Civilisation’ written by Abdullah Öcalan, entitled ‘The Civilizational Crisis in the Middle East and the Democratic Civilization Solution’ has been published in Spanish by Descontrol and Meyman Publishers. It has been announced that the English edition will be published in August this year and will be available from PM Press.

The global crisis of civilisation is most evident today in the prevailing conditions in the Middle East. Abdullah Öcalan suggests that the key to overcoming this crisis must be found where centralised civilisation began 5,000 years ago. ‘Democratic Civilisation’ sheds light on the historical causes of the global crisis as well as the diverse traditions of resistance – religious, cultural, decentralised – and, above all, their potential to overcome capitalist modernity. The fourth volume of Öcalan’s magnum opus, Manifesto of Democratic Civilisation, concludes with a discussion of the essential questions for global transformation: How to live? What to do? Where to start?

Meyman Publishing House made the following statement: “In these chaotic and crisis-ridden times in the Middle East, Abdullah Öcalan has thoroughly researched and examined Middle Eastern history, offering a historical perspective on the causes of the problems and pointing the way to a solution. This work has been prepared to help the Spanish-speaking world understand the Middle East and develop a perspective for a solution.”

For August of this year, the English edition of the book has been officially announced by the American publisher PM Press and will become available to English-speaking readers. The book is now available for pre-order (https://pmpress.org/index.php?l=product_detail&p=2151).

The book will be promoted in various cities across Spain in the coming months. The book consists of 468 pages and is available in Spain from the publisher Descontrol (https://descontrol.cat/portfolio/la-civilizacion-democratica/). You can also order it from the Meyman Publishing House website or via pirtukxane.net.
