Several countries urge their citizens to immediately leave Israel and Iran

On February 27, China warned its citizens not to travel to Iran and urged those currently in the country to leave “as soon as possible.” The government in Beijing announced that its diplomatic missions in Iran and neighboring countries would provide support during the evacuation process. China also called on its citizens in Israel to strengthen their security precautions.

On the same day, the U.S. Department of State authorized the departure of non-essential personnel and their families from its diplomatic missions in Jerusalem and Israel due to heightened security risks. The embassy stated that those wishing to leave while commercial flights are still operating should take action “today.” Some major airlines have suspended certain flights departing from Tel Aviv.

Canada also called on its citizens in Iran to “leave the country immediately,” provided it is safe to do so.

Many countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, and Australia, have updated their travel advisories.

Australia further announced that it supports the voluntary evacuation of diplomats’ families and advised its citizens in Israel, Lebanon, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan to consider leaving the region.

Countries such as Finland, Sweden, Poland, Serbia, India, Singapore, and South Cyprus have also issued official travel warnings regarding Iran, pointing to the risk of a rapid escalation of tensions.

These warnings came after the latest round of nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran in Geneva failed to achieve significant progress.
