Joint committee to be established to facilitate the return of displaced Kurds to Raqqa

Following visits to Afrin and the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods, Hesekê Internal Security Forces Commander Merwan El Elî and Internal Security Forces (Asayish) commander Mehmûd Xelîl met with Raqqa Governor Abdulrahman Selam.

During the meeting, the security and service situation in Raqqa, as well as the condition of Kurds in the region, were discussed. According to ANHA, the parties agreed to establish a joint committee to facilitate the safe return of Kurds to their homes in Raqqa.

No details were shared regarding the committee’s operational mechanism.
