Raid Al-Salih, Minister of Emergency Situations and Disasters of the Syrian Transitional Government, visited the city of Hesekê on Tuesday.

Al-Salih was received by Hesekê Governor Nûredîn Ehmed; Co-Chairs of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Cizîr Canton, Vîviyan Baho Osê and Hesen Şero; Autonomous Administration Advisor Jiyan Hesen; representatives of the Social Affairs and Labor Committee; mine clearance organizations; and representatives of those forcibly displaced from Serêkaniyê and Afrin.

According to a statement issued by the Hesekê Governorate Press Office, the visit aimed to monitor the status of service activities in the province, discuss coordination mechanisms between the two sides to strengthen emergency response, and improve institutional and service performance.

During the meeting, mechanisms for institutional integration and raising the level of services were discussed, particularly in the areas of emergency management and rapid response. The availability of specialized personnel and the more efficient use of their expertise were also evaluated.

Coordination efforts carried out by the Autonomous Administration in cooperation with the Social Affairs and Labor Committee were also reviewed. This work includes mine clearance organizations, firefighting teams, and the emergency committee, and aims to enhance operational preparedness in the field.

Within this framework, the Ministry presented its training plans and emphasized the necessity for the employees of institutions affiliated with the transitional government to participate in joint training programs abroad.

Officials stated that field surveys for mine clearance in war-affected areas are necessary and that rapid authorization should be granted due to their direct impact on civilian safety. They also stressed the need to discuss the establishment of a new organizational structure for joint efforts in accordance with the agreement between the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) and the transitional government.
