The artists Diyar Dersim, Hozan Şemdîn, Luqman Selîm, Rênas Zey, along with many journalists, held a press statement after crossing from Rojavayê Kurdistan to South Kurdistan.
Speaking at the press statement, artist Diyar Dersim said: “A major attack and plan were carried out against Rojava. However, thanks to the fighters, free women, and the people’s spirit of sacrifice, the plan was thwarted, and the enemy was taught a historic lesson. The danger has not completely passed; everyone must remain vigilant, because the enemy does not sleep. We call on the people to continue their resistance. The aim of these artists is to show that the Kurds are one, because artists can reach the hearts of the people more easily than politicians.”
Artist Luqman Selîm said: “As artists, we delivered the message of resistance from the other parts of Kurdistan to Rojavayê Kurdistan. Especially the support coming from Kurds in Başûrê Kurdistan caused the world to talk about the Rojava issue and to support the resistance being carried out there.”
Hozan Şemdîn also drew attention to two main reasons why the resistance spread internationally, saying: “First, the Kurds removed the borders among themselves. The media increased awareness among the people, which turned the Rojava Resistance into an important global issue. The importance of the unity of the media and the Kurdish people has made itself clear.”
