62-year-old Zerîfa Hesen told ANF that she will defend her country and her city against attacks.
Despite the freezing weather and her advanced age, Mother Zerîfa has mobilized to defend her city and taken up arms for self-defense. Emphasizing that their resistance is at a high level and that they will succeed through it, she said: “We are defending our city and our land; we are taking responsibility for this country and this land. We will not allow gangs to even dream of entering Kobane, let alone enter it. This is our city, and we will take up our weapons to protect it.”
Stating that they will not allow tears to fall from mothers’ eyes again with all their strength, Mother Zerîfa continued: “We want to live in a peaceful country now. But for now, we have taken up arms alongside our children; we will be in the streets to defend our city. We stand behind our forces and will resist to the last drop of our blood. Whether it snows or rains, we will stand for this city to the very end. By mobilizing in the streets, we will achieve success.”
Expressing that they will resist the attacks, Mother Zerîfa said, “No matter what happens, even if they attack us, we will resist to the end and repel the attacks.”
