Women in the city of Qamishlo in the Cizîr Canton, together with the Community Defense Forces–Women (HPC), have formed a battalion named Şehid (Martyr) Ayaz to defend their land and region as part of the general mobilization.
Speaking on behalf of the battalion, HPC-Women member Wedha Wenikî announced that, as women of the Şehid Lewend Commune in Qamishlo’s Qurnish neighborhood, they have established the Şehid Ayaz Battalion. She said that the battalion will protect the neighborhood against current threats and attacks.
Wedha Wenikî stressed that, “We stand behind our children who are defending their regions on the front lines.”
