In the northern Syrian city of Hesekê, Kurdish and Arab fighters are defending their land together. One of these fighters said the following regarding attempts to create discord among communities:
“We, as Kurdish and Arab peoples, have lived together throughout history. As an Arab woman, I am fighting within the ranks of the YPJ based on the idea of Democratic Nation leadership, and I believe in this idea.
I wish for our Arab people to return once again to this idea, because the liberation of peoples lies in this idea. The liberation of peoples lies in the project of Kurdish, Arab, Syriac, and Circassian brotherhood, and this project will certainly succeed.”
