KNK Co-Chair: Threats against Rojava continue

Commenting on developments in Syria, Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Co-Chair Ahmet Karamus emphasized that safeguarding the gains achieved in Rojava is imperative.

Speaking to ANF, Karamus said:

“Although it appears that an agreement has been reached with Damascus, there are still many dangers and risks. The threats against Rojava continue. The attacks by these groups and forces on Rojava are ongoing. For this reason, a KNK delegation is currently in Rojava (West) Kurdistan. The aim of the delegation is to openly demonstrate its support for Rojava Kurdistan. We stand with our people and their achievements. We want to convey to the public the situation of the people, their demands, expectations, and what kind of support they need.

Our call is for actions and demonstrations to continue in all four parts of Kurdistan and abroad.

In order to secure the gains of the people of Rojava and of the Kurdish people as a whole, February 1 has been declared a Day of Solidarity with Rojava Kurdistan by decision of the Kurdistan National Congress and all Kurdish parties. Every Kurd should take part in these actions on February 1, because millions of Kurds will once again demonstrate their support for Rojava and its achievements.”
