The Parliament of Catalonia approved a written statement concerning the situation in North and East Syria. The statement emphasized that following the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime, a transition process has begun in Syria that requires the participation of numerous ethnic and religious communities.
The Parliament noted that the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, which it recognized in 2021, offers an important opportunity for coexistence among communities that have historically been in conflict in the region. The statement also drew attention to the role of the Autonomous Administration in the fight against terrorism and to the leading position of women in social and political life.
