Rêbwar Avdanan, a member of the Executive Committee of the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK), issued a statement regarding the protests in Iran and Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan) and the massacres in Kermanshah and Ilam.
The statement remarked that the massacres carried out in Kermanshah and Ilam in January 2026 were part of a bloody genocide against the Kurds, saying, “These massacres were carried out silently. Kermanshah and Ilam are now facing the same thing that is happening in Rojava and Kobanê. The only difference between the ISIS gangs affiliated with al-Jolani and those affiliated with Khamenei is the way they commit crimes. One broadcasts their crimes to intimidate the world, while the other distorts the images of their crimes to show their power of oppression.”
The statement continued: “Today, Kermanshah and Ilam are in mourning. However, this mourning will turn into a voice raised for resistance and justice. The history of Kermanshah and Ilam shows us that great tragedies and sorrows have evolved into greater anger and resistance.”
Following a century of imposition, the revolutionary movement “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” (Woman, Life, Freedom) was embraced with resistance in Malekshahi, Abdanan, Serbeleh, Kermanshah, Shebad, and Hersine in January, the statement said and concluded: “Undoubtedly, the people who are in mourning today will give a historic response to the massacres and genocides committed against them by the forces of the Islamic Republic. Kermanshah and Ilam may be wounded, but Bestun, Peraw, Manşit, and Kewirkêw stand tall. Zagros is badly wounded, but its heart beats faster than ever for freedom.”
