Awazê Çiya: Rojava is our honor

As the Turkish state and HTS and ISIS gangs continue their attacks on Rojava, Awazê Çiya, which has made the resistance of the Kurdish people known to the world through its works, saluted the people’s resistance in Rojava by saying “Rojava Is Our Honor.” The group dedicated the song they prepared to all martyrs of the resistance.

In a written statement by Awazê Çiya, it was emphasized that the Kurdish people are one of the most ancient peoples of Mesopotamia, stating: “On these lands, we have built a life based on communal and collective consciousness and on diversity. However, with its recent attacks, the fascist system is trying to destroy these sacred values in Rojava Kurdistan.”

The statement drew attention to the steps taken by Leader Apo for peace and a democratic society, and said that the current fascist mentality and hegemonic powers are trying to block this process through bloody attacks. It was noted that Kurdish society has united against these attacks through the resistance of freedom fighters, and it was emphasized that artists are also among the pioneering forces of this period.

Awazê Çiya recalled that artists within TEV-ÇAND are defending the honor of the people in Rojava and called on all Kurdish artists to take part in this process through their productions and struggles. The group said, “With our voices, our music, and our labor, we will stand by our people; we will continue the struggle until victory and freedom are secured.”

The statement continued by saying that those responsible for attacks against the people will be held accountable, adding: “The occupying gangs who attack our people, destroy our graves, and burn our bodies will be defeated. This oppression will be accounted for one by one. Victory belongs to the peoples.”

Awazê Çiya ended their statement by saying “Long live the resistance of the Kurdish people, long live the Rojava resistance,” and announcing that they dedicate their songs to the martyrs of the resistance, the Kurdish people, and all peoples taking part in the struggle for honor.
