Mazloum Abdi, Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Ilham Ehmed, Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, met with Tom Barrack, US President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy for Syria, in Hewlêr (Erbil) on Tuesday.
In a related post on X, Barrack said that the United States reaffirmed its strong support for and commitment to advancing the integration process outlined in the January 18 agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian government.
“All parties agreed that the essential first step is the full upholding of the current ceasefire, as we collectively identify and implement confidence-building measures on all sides to foster trust and lasting stability,” Barrack wrote.
