Autonomous Administration: Resistance continues, our people must strengthen legitimate self-defense

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Canton issued a statement regarding the continuing attacks on North and East Syria, calling on the people to reinforce the line of legitimate self-defense.

The statement said: “Since January 6, gangs affiliated with the Damascus Interim Government and backed by the Turkish state have been carrying out attacks against North and East Syria. During these attacks, all kinds of brutal acts have been committed against our people. Today, our people are facing a genocidal assault.

At the same time, these gangs have dangerously encircled Kobanê. After entering the Tishrin Dam, they cut off Kobanê’s water and electricity. All roads connecting Kobanê to surrounding centers have been blocked by the gangs. As a result, medicine, food, and fuel cannot enter the city. This situation poses serious threats to the daily lives of the people of Kobanê.”

The statement added: “For this reason, we warn the Interim Government to abandon its policies of war and embargo. The government bears responsibility for the current situation. We call on the international community and international powers to pressure the government to stop this war. The way must be opened for basic needs to reach Kobanê. The actions carried out by these gang groups constitute war crimes. These crimes require direct international intervention.

On this basis, as the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Canton, we once again emphasize that we will organize our people on the basis of general mobilization and legitimate self-defense, and that we will continue our resistance. We will use all our means to protect our land and the gains of our people. We will never bow to immoral policies nor surrender. We call on our people everywhere in the world to escalate the struggle and to foil this war.”
