PAJK: Today is the day to resist the ISIS mentality and its partners

The Kurdistan Women’s Freedom Party (PAJK) Coordination issued a written statement regarding the increasing attacks against North and East Syria, announcing their support for the people of Rojava.

While the Rojava resistance is a symbol of the struggle for freedom and dignity, the attacks are forcing the Kurdish people to surrender or die, said PAJK and stressed that the people, women, and youth must stand up for Rojava and strengthen the resistance.

The statement by PAJK Coordination reads as follows:

“Rojava has been under major attack and in resistance for days. We honor all the martyrs of this resistance with respect and gratitude.

The attacks that began in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah and continued in Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, Kobanê, Shaddadi, and Hesekê are genocidal attacks directed against the Kurdish people. It is an onslaught aimed at completely eliminating Rojava. Our people are being forced to choose between surrender and death. The Kurdish people, especially our people in Rojava, are declaring to the whole world from every corner of Rojava that they have no choice but to resist as a symbol of resistance and to live freely. The call to mobilize there is a call to all our people, our youth, and our friends.

Rojava sacrificed itself to save all humanity from the brutality and oppression of ISIS at the cost of 12,000 martyrs. It defended peace, brotherhood, and democracy in the region against the war and massacres imposed on the Middle East. For fourteen years, it has built a system based on democracy, where Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Armenians, and all peoples live together on a democratic basis, founded on gender equality and freedom. The Rojava Revolution, a women’s revolution, is now under major attack. All women in Rojava and our peoples are facing a massacre.

Despite talks between the Damascus government and the Rojava administration on implementing the March 10 agreement, and despite the ceasefire decision in both Aleppo and west of the Euphrates, all militia groups were mobilized to attack SDF forces under the name of the Syrian army.  By continuously using provocative language, citing non-compliance with the March 10 agreement as justification, the Turkish state has revealed its involvement in this attack plan.

It has become clear that the genocide and invasion campaign against Rojava launched on January 6 are part of an international plan. The silence of international powers in the face of these attacks, and even their statements encouraging Damascus’ attacks, reveal that a second Treaty of Lausanne is being orchestrated against the Kurdish people. The Turkish state is the planner and director of these attacks. This also shows that the real attack is directed at the Peace and Democratic Society process that our Leader is persistently trying to implement in Turkey. It should be understood that while our people, women, are being massacred in Rojava, such a process cannot be implemented in Bakur (Northern Kurdistan).

A new dark conspiracy against our people is underway. This grand conspiracy is aimed at dismantling the Middle East, the will of the peoples to live together in brotherhood, and the system that it is based upon. The resistance of our people in Kurdistan and everywhere in the world will defeat this conspiracy.

The forces that brought ISIS to power in disguise are the masterminds behind this conspiracy. Just as the US left Afghanistan to the Taliban, it has given its approval to the massacre of all women and peoples by leaving Syria to ISIS remnants. Under the control of such a regime and power in Syria, no one has any guarantee of life. These misogynistic murderers want to take revenge for ISIS’ defeat on the people of Rojava and on women. The whole world is seeing and watching this. What has been done to our people in Aleppo, to our comrade Deniz, will never be forgotten. We will not forget. It has been proven once again that women in Syria, in Rojava, can never be left defenseless. Just as women defeated ISIS under the leadership of the YPJ, women under the leadership of the YPJ will defend the Rojava revolution everywhere today and bury these murderous hordes in the darkness of history.

Rojava will certainly resist, protect its honor and existence, and will not surrender. The Kurdish people and women will not stand idly by in the face of this genocide.

We call on all women, our people, our international friends, women’s movements, and all sensitive, democratic humanity to defend Rojava against the conspiracy and genocidal policies imposed on it. All women and young people must embrace Rojava and contribute to the resistance through all kinds of actions. From Bakur and Bashur to Europe, our entire people must mobilize for Rojava, the apple of the Kurdish people’s eye, their conscience, and their symbol of freedom.

The youth of the Kurdish people must stand up and defend Rojava everywhere. We call on all international circles and organizations who have participated in the resistance against ISIS in Rojava to support the Rojava revolution and join the resistance.

Today is the day of national unity and to defend our people and Rojava. Today is the day to defend our existence, our honor, and the revolution that was achieved at the cost of tens of thousands of martyrs.

Today is the day to resist the ISIS mentality and its partners who seek to eliminate women’s libertarian, democratic, ecological system.

Once again, we salute our people, who have been taking action everywhere since the attacks began, and all the heroic fighters who are selflessly resisting in defense of the people. The resistance of our people and their heroic defense forces will foil these plans, secure the freedom of the Kurdish people, and achieve victory.”
