Some civilians living in the city of Raqqa attempted to reach Hasakah on 18 January 2026 to ensure their safety due to increasing gang attacks in the area. However, the civilian convoy was attacked by armed gang groups near the village of Sahab al-Kheir.
The moment of the attack was recorded by a resident who was at the scene. The footage shows civilians coming under heavy fire on the road, some being shot and falling to the ground, while others try to flee in panic to protect themselves from the bullets.
