Amid increasingly ongoing attacks by Turkish-backed militias of the Syrian interim government across North and East Syria, a statement published on the YPG’s official account stressed that the gains achieved through great sacrifice would be protected.
The statement included the following:
“For the past two weeks, a policy of annihilation has been implemented against the people of Rojava. Our people, who have resisted ISIS for years, are once again facing ISIS attacks now. As YPG and YPJ forces, we will defend our people and the gains we have achieved through great sacrifice with all our might. All relevant parties should mobilize to protect humanity and support this struggle. This battle is not only for Rojava, but to protect the dignity of all humanity.”
