SDF, YPJ and Internal Security Forces are responding to all attacks in North-East Syria

Militia groups affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government continue their attacks on many areas across North and East Syria since the early hours of the morning.

Since last night, intense clashes have been taking place in the countryside of Tabqa, Masnura, Raqqa, and Deir ez-Zor. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Women’s Defense Units (YPJ), and Internal Security Forces (Asayish) have responded to the militias with heavy weapons and machine guns, inflicting heavy losses.

As clashes are still ongoing, the SDF responded to attempts to attack and infiltrate the city of Tabqa.

Simultaneously with these attacks, militias of the interim government and mercenaries backed by the occupying Turkish state continued to shell the vicinity of the Tishrin Dam on the banks of the Euphrates River. Further attacks were directed at the towns of Baxoz, Sheife, Sus, Hecin, Abu Hemam, Xeranic, Ziban, and Dernic in the Deir ez-Zor countryside, as well as on the oil wells in al-Omar and Tanah in Deir ez-Zor.

The SDF and YPJ repelled numerous attacks, destroyed two tanks, two armored vehicles loaded with DShK machine guns, and killed many mercenaries.

The SDF captured an ISIS member in Raqqa and suppressed another attempt to undermine security and stability. Meanwhile, militias looted institutions in Shaddadi.

During the day, militias affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government stopped a group of civilians and wounded people who were trying to cross into Hesekê at the village of Sabah al-Khayr in the Raqqa countryside and opened fire on them. Their fate is unknown.

In the meantime, SDF Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi stated that attacks continued despite all efforts to stop the fighting and calm the situation, noting that efforts to de-escalate the situation were ongoing.

“We inform our people that our efforts for peace and a ceasefire continue with the help of international parties. We call on our people to bravely rally around our fighters and keep their faith strong,” Abdi said.

Abdi said he spoke by phone with Syrian Interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa about the recent clashes in the region.

On the other hand, the Council of Opinion Leaders of North and East Syria issued a warning about the danger of discord and called for an immediate halt to the attacks. Meanwhile, the hunger strike initiated by the people of Cizîr Canton in front of the International Coalition base in the town of Qasrik, north of Hesekê, continues on its eighth day.

During the attacks on Tabqa, Raqqa, and surrounding areas, 3,000 families from Tabqa, along with IDPs from Afrin and Shehbal, sought refuge in the Cizîr Canton.
