The Afrin Human Rights Organization announced the death of 8-month-old Mihemed Ebdurehman Berekat, who had suffered injuries during the Turkish-backed and Syrian interim government-affiliated militias’ attack on the Martyr Khalid Fajr Hospital in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo.
The organization recalled that Syrian Transitional Government militias also used tear gas in last week’s attacks on the hospital, injuring dozens of civilians.
According to the statement, the baby lost his life this morning (January 13, 2026) due to the cold weather and repeated stopping at checkpoints during the long journey from Aleppo to Hesekê.
