The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a statement regarding the ongoing attacks by armed groups targeting the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafiyah, and Bani Zaid in Aleppo.
The statement said: “We emphasize that the protection of civilians living in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah is our primary objective. On this basis, we view positively the proposal of international mediating forces regarding the protection of civilians.
We agree to withdraw our forces in Sheikh Maqsoud and east of the Euphrates to the areas of the Autonomous Administration, on the condition that the presence of Kurds is safeguarded and that the activities of both neighborhood councils continue in accordance with the 1 April agreement.”
