Widespread mobilization in North-East Syria in support of besieged neighborhoods in Aleppo

Following the declaration by the People’s Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah, hundreds of people in numerous cities of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES) are preparing to g oto Aleppo to show solidarity with the besieged neighborhoods and support the resistance.

Earlier today, the People’s Council had announced that the Syrian transitional government’s attacks on the Kurdish-dominated neighborhoods in northern Aleppo, which had been ongoing since Tuesday, would continue without any significant interruption. The Council accused the mercenaries of the Islamist government in Damascus of massacring the civilian population and firmly rejected demands for surrender. It said it would defend the neighborhoods with all means necessary.

Immediately after the announcement, the Kurdish Red Crescent organization Heyva Sor a Kurds announced the dispatch of a medical convoy with 15 vehicles. The organization aims to evacuate the wounded and bring urgently needed relief supplies to the besieged neighborhoods.

Amid the growing civil solidarity, numerous people from the cantons of Cizîrê, Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, Tabqa, and Euphrates have already left for Aleppo.

In each city, local people’s councils report intensive preparations. “Our people will not abandon the residents of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah. Their resistance is also our resistance,” say the councils.
