Militia groups affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government and supported by the Turkish state have been attacking the neighborhoods of Ashrafiya, Sheikh Maqsoud, and Beni Zayd in Aleppo with heavy weapons since January 6.
Numerous civilians were killed and wounded in the attacks. Homes and service institutions belonging to civilians located were among the targeted areas and were rendered unusable. The Martyr Khaled Fajr Hospital was also targeted and subsequently ceased operations.
