Rojhilat parties thank people for joining general strike

The seven Rojhilat Kurdish parties that signed a joint position document on the protests in Iran issued a statement thanking the public for the strong participation shown in response to their call for a general strike.

The parties, which on January 6 established the “Inter-Party Cooperation Dialogue Center” in order to pursue a common policy toward the protests in Iran and signed a joint position document, shared their assessments of the ongoing protests in Iran and Rojhilat.

In the statement released by the Inter-Party Cooperation Dialogue Center, it was noted that the public responded strongly to the general strike call, stating, “Through the strikes and the ongoing protests, a clear and powerful political message was delivered to the repressive forces and the ruling regime.”

‘Jin Jiyan Azadî’ movement has taken deep roots

The statement said that protesters’ participation in the general strike demonstrated trust in the political parties, adding that “they proved that the ‘Jin, jiyan, azadî’ movement is continuing and has taken deep root in society.” It emphasized that the movement remains determined to dismantle the repressive apparatus of the Islamic Republic.

The statement noted that despite threats, intimidation, and repressive policies, the people of Kurdistan have maintained their determination, and that the public and political parties, acting in unity and solidarity, have advanced the struggle for freedom to a new stage.
