SDF General Commander Mazloum Abdi shared a statement on the X platform regarding the attacks on the Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafiyah, and Benî Zêd neighborhoods of Aleppo.
Mazloum Abdi’s statement reads as follows: “The language of war is unacceptable as a means of imposing one-sided solutions. Its consequences have already been seen in massacres along the Syrian coast and in Suwayda, which reached the level of war crimes.
The deployment of tanks and artillery in Aleppo’s neighborhoods, the targeting and displacement of civilians, and attempts to seize Kurdish neighborhoods while negotiation processes are ongoing all weaken the prospects for reaching an agreement. At the same time, they dangerously undermine the foundations of a democratic transformation. Despite this, civilians in both neighborhoods continue to face the risk of massacre.
We stand with our people in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah. For several days now, we have been working with all parties to bring these attacks to an end.
We extend our condolences to the families of the martyrs and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.”
