DEM Party: Joint struggle against attacks is of vital importance

The Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) released an official statement condemning the attack on a mosque in the Wadi al-Dhahab area of Homs, Syria.

The statement said: “Such attacks targeting places of worship and civilians are unacceptable. This attack once again shows that ISIS and similar structures continue to pose a serious threat to the peoples of the Middle East. This threat cannot be eliminated solely through security-based approaches; it can only be overcome through a common struggle based on equality among peoples, freedom of belief, democratic participation, and peace.”

The DEM Party emphasized that it will continue to defend the construction of a pluralistic, democratic, and peaceful Syria in which all peoples, regardless of ethnic identity, belief, or sect, can live together on the basis of equal citizenship. The statement continued: “We reject violence and sectarian attacks, and we believe that strengthening solidarity among peoples, dialogue, and the will for shared life is a historical responsibility. We extend our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the attack and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded. The joint struggle of the peoples of the region and international solidarity against these attacks are of vital importance.”
