The Freedom Vigil, which has continued uninterrupted since June 2012 in the French city of Strasbourg, was taken over in its 705th week by three patriots who came from the German city of Münster. Bahoz Sozdar, Yunus Stêrk, and Gelhat Aydın are taking part in the vigil.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Bahoz Sozdar said that they had come to Strasbourg for Abdullah Öcalan’s physical freedom. Recalling that the vigil has been ongoing for 14 years, Sozdar stated: “The stronger our people’s faith in themselves and their faith in Önder Apo, the stronger we will become in achieving Öcalan’s physical freedom.”
Sozdar emphasized that their resistance in front of the Council of Europe will continue until Öcalan’s physical freedom is ensured.
Group member Yunus Stêrk, meanwhile, called on the Kurdish people in Kurdistan and Europe, saying: “Let us all break this isolation together for Öcalan’s physical freedom.”
