Members of the DEM Party Imrali Delegation, Pervin Buldan, Mithat Sancar, and Faik Özgür Erol, held a meeting with Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç in Ankara on Tuesday. Following the meeting, which lasted nearly one and a half hours, the delegation made a statement in front of the Ministry of Justice.
Sancar: An intensive preparation process is underway
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mithat Sancar stated that they held extensive discussions with the Ministry of Justice and relevant bureaucrats, addressing not only current justice and legal issues but also legal regulations related to the ongoing process. He said that they received information about the work carried out by the Ministry and also presented their own proposals.
Sancar emphasized that peace can only be made permanent on the basis of justice and legal safeguards, stating that the Ministry of Justice has an important role to play in this regard. Sancar reported that issues of equality and justice in enforcement, particularly the 11th Judicial Package currently being discussed in Parliament, were also addressed in the meeting, noting that they observed an intensive preparation process underway at the Ministry of Justice. He stated that their goal is to secure peace through the law and make it lasting on the basis of justice, adding that talks will continue.

Pervin Buldan pointed out that many detainees could not be released due to problems arising from administrative observation boards, stating that they conveyed their views and suggestions on this matter to the Ministry. Buldan said that the COVID Law and demands for equality in enforcement were also raised during the meeting, and thanked the Minister of Justice for his constructive approach.
The delegation members emphasized the importance of finalizing preparations as soon as possible and stressed that dialogue and consultation will continue to ensure the process progresses smoothly.
Tunç: We discussed the steps to be taken within the framework of the roadmap
In a statement on his social media account following the meeting, Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç stated that comprehensive assessments were made during the meeting regarding the process. According to the minister, the process is being carried out under the leadership of President Tayyip Erdoğan and the relevant state institutions are working in coordination. Tunç noted that the steps to be taken within the framework of the roadmap to be prepared by the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission were also discussed during the meeting.
