The Internal Security Forces in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods announced that armed groups affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government’s Ministry of Defense attacked a checkpoint at the Şîhan intersection in Aleppo on Monday.
The checkpoint is jointly operated by Aleppo Internal Security Forces and Transitional Government forces.
According to the statement, two members of the Aleppo Internal Security Forces were injured in the attack.
It is noteworthy that the attack coincided with the visit of the Turkish foreign and defense ministers to Damascus.
