Senator Gorga Elejabarrieta Diaz, a member of the Left Group for Independence from the Basque Eh Bildu party, said, “The peace process between Kurdistan and Turkey is a glimmer of hope in a turbulent world marked by escalating conflicts and bad news.

The Senator called on the Spanish government to support and accompany efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace.
Diaz called for taking advantage of “the real opportunity” that has opened up to achieve lasting peace in Kurdistan and recalled the steps taken in recent months in that direction.
The senator stressed that “dialogue and negotiation are the most effective way to resolve political conflicts.”
