MSD Co-Chair: Unity is vital to prevent internal conflicts and sectarian tensions

The Syrian Democratic Council (MSD or SDC) held a public meeting in the village of Um Hicêra, on the outskirts of the city of Hol, part of the Cizîr Canton. In addition to the local population, tribal leaders and representatives, as well as members of the Autonomous Administration institutions attended the meeting.

Following a moment of silence, Hisên Ezam, Co-Chair of the MSD Public Relations Office, drew attention to the increasing hate speech, particularly in areas under the control of the Syrian Transitional Government. Ezam stated that the current situation in Syria requires unity and solidarity, emphasizing that all segments of society must rally around the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

MSD Co-Chair Mahmoud al-Meslet stated that the regions of North and East Syria have faced serious problems and crises in recent years, but the region has, nevertheless, been able to send positive messages to the world based on democratic and social unity.

Al-Meslet emphasized that tribal leaders, women, youth, and politicians bear significant responsibilities in preventing internal conflicts and sectarian tensions. Warning that such conflicts could lead to the destruction of the region, he noted that strengthening common will and unity is of vital importance.

At the end of the meeting, participants expressed their views and asked questions regarding the political situation and voiced their demands regarding the services in the region.
