The “International Conference on Peace and Democratic Society” held by the DEM Party in Istanbul continues.
At the beginning of the second session, Dilshad Shahab, spokesperson for the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani, read his message, which said the following:
“The Kurdistan region’s view is aimed at peace. We believe this will be an agreement based on mutual acceptance, not just on silencing weapons. We know that violence will get us nowhere. But we now see a door opening for peace. Turkey is an important neighbor and country. Building peace here will affect the entire region. Turkey being in an environment of peace and tranquility will have a huge impact. Last year, we supported peace in every way. We say that dialogue will bring great gains. The Kurdistan region is ready to play its part in establishing peace and tranquility. There may be obstacles, but peace must not be hindered. What matters is that it continues, no matter how long it takes. I thank the parties for establishing an environment of peace. We also congratulate President Öcalan for establishing peace here, for showing the will to establish coexistence. We know that the future will be built on peace. I wish you all well.”
