The DEM Party will organize the “International Conference on Peace and Democratic Society” on 6–7 December 2025 in Istanbul, featuring speakers who have been directly involved in global conflict-resolution initiatives and who have contributed to efforts for resolution and lasting peace.
Politicians, academics, journalists and peace negotiators from many countries, from the Basque Country to South Africa, from Ireland to Belgium, will share their experiences at the conference. The event aims to discuss international examples in the context of the Peace and Democratic Society Process announced by Abdullah Öcalan on 27 February 2025.
Ilham Ehmed, Co-Chair of Foreign Relations for the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, will speak on the first day of the international conference. The Kurdish politician is expected to participate in the conference via teleconference and deliver the opening speech.
Speakers at the opening day will also include Amina Zikri, member of the KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party) Politburo and representative of Masoud Barzani, former President of the Federal Kurdistan Region and General President of the KDP, and Narin Nadirova, Kurdish parliamentarian and member of the Kazakh People’s Assembly.
Following the two-day sessions, the conference at the Cem Karaca Conference Hall will conclude with a closing forum where a “Joint Peace Declaration” will be announced. Simultaneous interpretation in Turkish, Kurdish, and English will be provided during the conference. The conference will be broadcast on the party’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/
