Bahçeli comments on “legal regulation” regarding the process

In an interview with the newspaper Türkgün, MHP chair Devlet Bahçeli drew attention to the work of the commission established in parliament and to the commission members’ visit to Imrali.

The MHP leader said: “Now it is time to draft the commission report concerning the transition period. For this reason, I believe that there will be agreement in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) to complete the legal regulations. I hope that the dedication shown so far will continue in the same way so that the political, democratic, and legal dimensions of the process can be carried out swiftly.”

Repeating that the final stretch has been reached, Bahçeli said: “There is a broad and realistic environment of consensus. With the roadmap that will be determined, from 2026 onward a ‘Turkey without terrorism’ must take shape and become reality. There is no time left. We have entered the final stretch. Our nation will embrace peace with enthusiasm. Social peace will prevail. For this reason, I am at ease. I assess that every party that has assigned members to the commission is acting with a sense of responsibility, and I thank them all.”
